Yearning People

We all know what its like to miss someone, be it a friend, lover, family member, mentor or even yourself. The person you miss could be on the other side of an ocean, behind mountains, right next to you or in the grave. If you are alive then you know the pain of loss. Either way time or space is between you and the person you miss. Frankly we know there are some doors that shouldn't be opened once shut but there are times when your mind, body or soul yearns for a person or for the feeling they once gave you -- previous experiences feel fresher than when they were actually happening.

It's more than okay to miss someone and if they were that important to you (but they weren't toxic to your life) then its okay to simply reach out to see how they are. Or maybe you simply lost touch with someone. If things ended badly then it might be worth trying to reconnect...but in many of those instances its almost better just to keep missing them -- attempting to reopen a door that was slammed, nailed shut and painted over is not the best idea (you may have cut them out because of how your relationship devolved or how you began to treat/react to each other. Unless you're planning on remodelling the house that is your life it might be better to forget how to get that door (but keep a few pictures of that room).

Telling someone you miss them is important, just about as important as telling them that you love them (if you actually do). We need to have some people in our lives because of how they influence us. Do yourself (and the people you miss) a favour by reaching out to them to let them know you missed them -- reach out, you might reconnect or it will be a fleeting moment. For those you can't get to its okay to simply smile and relive those moments you have for a bit, just try not to get too lost in the past because you still have a future to prepare for while living in the present moment.
