So here are some photos from my trip to South Andros over the weekend, I was dead tired and only there for a day but it was relaxing and beautiful. Enjoy! :P
So I was visiting my parents for the Father's day holiday (yup it was a surprise :P ) and that night it had rained and their was a full moon. I went outside to try and capture its beauty as best I can. Many times the best things in life aren't planned and not what we anticipated them to be. I mentioned previously how going to Stonehenge was such a epic moment for me (something that that impacted me in a gigantic way) and I wanted to share the experience as much as possible. (lq, I do have almost 50 photos here but I assure you this is after I cut down from the 200 I took while at this historic site) I hope you all enjoy and the the feeling of serenity I felt translates to everyone who glimpses these photos. June Solstice moon from Nassau, Bahamas. It honestly is a beautiful sight (didn't realise this was happening tonight till I read about it on Facebook...information age ftw!)
I don't know how many people are up trying to see this beautiful moon but for those of you who missed it please enjoy the brief (but beautiful photos) of this Rose, Honey or Strawberry Moon (depending on which region you're from). I'm sure that if you google it this will be all over the internet tomorrow. It's been a long day (I swear I'm not making a joke of this being the longest day) so I'm looking to get some shut eye. Enjoy. Was just taking a few photos as I left Eleuthera this morning and my parents reminded me how important it is to slow to appreciate the events around you (hell only reason I have a few of these photos is because they convinced me to stop on the way to the airport). So on this lovely Monday I want to remind you all to slow down and take in the view.
The amount of work that goes into this building is breath taking. Each statue, each column (hell every wall) has some level of care and attention to detail. St Paul's Cathedral is beautifully made and seems to have careful hands that watch over and maintain it. I urge everyone to go and see structures like this (even if you aren't religious). The tranquil atmosphere of this sacred space alone will make it worth a visit...even if you don't appreciate art (but I hope you do >.< ).
No one ever takes the time to consider the amount of work that goes into crafting the currency of a nation -- but it is ALOT of work! Each coin is very intricate, designed with care. So I decided to share the major coins from the Bahamas -- with the aid of my iPhone 5 (yes I'm behind the curve but it still works!) and a macro lens (which I am still learning to use effectively). So please enjoy! I love sun sets and the ocean. Just wanted to share one I witnessed. Hopefully it will bring someone else a sense of calm.
